Julie Russell is a talented interior designer with over 20 years of experience and an extensive knowledge of both international and local design. Originating from the east coast of the United States she relocated to New Zealand with her family in 2010. Julie has worked as a designer in Florida, New York and Connecticut before arriving in Auckland to continue her career.

She offers a discerning eye for colour, textiles and bespoke furniture design. While communication and collaboration remain essential to her design process, Julie translates her clients needs into refined and cohesive schemes. By nature she is highly resourceful and innovative when providing solutions to her clients’ concerns. A creative use of texture and layering of materials allow her to achieve results with depth and a distinctive aesthetic finish.

Julie is fast thinking and able to navigate the challenges of any project with ease. Above all she truly believes that making the design experience an enjoyable and exciting one should always be a priority.

Alexis is an accomplished interior designer with a diploma in Interior Design and over 4 years of experience in the industry. She has honed her craft working in various design and retail spaces, specializing in soft furnishings, window treatments, and furniture sourcing.

What sets Alexis apart is her passion for Interior Design and her commitment to making sure her clients enjoy the process of working with her from start to finish.

She has a keen eye for detail and a clean approach to interior design, ensuring that every space she creates is both functional and beautiful.

Alexis’s ultimate goal is to create a space that someone will fall in love with. She believes that every project is an opportunity to transform a space and bring joy to those who use it. With her expertise and creativity, Alexis is sure to help you bring your vision to life.

The Furnishing Room provides an in-home measure & quote service with an experienced design consultant for a wide range of window furnishings. Our range includes everything from drapery and soft furnishings, roman blinds, roller shades and sunscreens,  venetian blinds,and shutters, to outdoor automated screens & awnings.

Is your home a new build? Email your window schedule or house plans to us along with your preferred window treatments, we can provide a basic estimate to help you budget, during the planning stages. At the next stage, when your home has it’s window frames and flooring in place, The Furnishing Room will arrange a measure and consultation to make your final selections; then we can work with your builder toward seamless delivery.
